The Right Quality

The right quality of products is key to ensuring value for money; a product needs to be of adequate quality to ensure fitness for purpose. If a product fails prematurely it leads to increased expenses in replacing the product or material. Unexpected failures or inadequate quality can also damage machinery or cause other supply chain issues.

There are two primary ways of ensuring a product is of adequate quality:

  • A comprehensive specification when procuring a product or service is key
  • Quality standards are also very important. ISO 9001 is the current globally recognised standard for quality.

ISO9001 is the globally recognised standard for quality management systems. This standard refers to quality checking and over 170 countries have applied for and gained this accreditation.
